T-SHIRTModal is a fully natural textile fiber obtained from cellulose extracted from beech trees. It is a Rayon variety originally developed in Japan in 1951 and marketed as ‘artificial silk’. While Rayon is extracted from the pulp of different trees, modal is extracted only from beech wood.
Modal is very comfortable, thanks to its extraordinary softness. Modal is more air permeable and breathable than cotton, this makes it the ideal material for t-shirts as it improves physiological circulation and general body health.
Modal shows a raised, fine, smooth, fresh and velvety surface, and has a feel very similar to silk to the touch. The yarn is very resistant and the fabric shows a pleasant shine effect.
Modal is resistant to shrinkage and fading. It is smoother and softer than cotton and hart water deposits do not stick to the fabric surface.
